Exceptional antique violin from the Dutch school, circa 1700, crafted in the style of Jacobs (with later head).
Full-size violin (approx. 354 mm body length)
Two-piece maple back with fine flames
Spruce top with irregular grain
Maple ribs with soft figuring
Later scroll
Beautiful reddish-brown varnish on a golden ground
Produces a warm, rich and expressive tone, suitable for advanced players and professionals.
The violin used to be played by a renowned concertmaster.
